Eating Fresh Food Prevents Piles

Posted on 08 March 2010

I’ve recently had to start taking pain killing medication and now I know that modern medicine can give you constipation. I’d heard about it before and now I’m certain of it.

Of course, you have to be very wary of constipation because it can be the first step towards piles and hemroids. I take laxative pills – the natural kind - and I try not to eat hard boiled eggs or too much processed food  which can give you hard stools and constipation.

I love hot curries and eat them regularly and I drink strong black coffee in the morning, both of which help relieve me. I do believe hot spicy food is good for you anyway and it’s surely good for opening the bowels.

I’m totally sure that serves of fresh fruit and vegetables every day help you go to the toilet. I  think all fresh food is good and if you can include tasty things like garlic, ginger, various herbs and spices then  you’re on a winner.

Unfortunately nowadays lots of the food on sale is processed. There is so much processed food you just would not know it. It’s not just things like bacon, cheese, sausages and luncheon meats.  The majority of the foods sold in a modern supermarket are processed. Even milk is processed.

So it’s a tough one if you want to stay healthy in a natural sort of way and non-constipated.

The world of food is changing but we still can cook and eat like people did years ago. We can still buy fresh vegetables, fruit and meat. We don’t have to use the processed stuff or the ready-made frozen meals or take-aways.

Anyway there’s nothing like the taste and smell of real fresh natural food. And if you’re also a good cook – wow! – that’s heaven.
